Black and Blue Berries in Ginger Syrup

Looks yummy doesn’t it? Ice cream is everyone’s delight during summer season for it gets too hot outside. Since last night I have been craving for ice cream after my husband has mentioned about it. He wanted us to get some ice cream but I said no because it was getting late, and now I regretted it, I should have listened. The temperature right now is really hot that it makes me wanna stay inside all day long. Although the AC is always running, but I can still feel the hot from outside though.

Anyway, since I still think about the ice cream , I was looking online for some dessert, and I stumble one of this Black and Blue Berries in Ginger Syrup dessert. This is indeed looks very yummy that is enough for me to drool right now!


Ingredients
2 cups water
2 1/2 cups blackberries, divided
1/3 cup turbinado or granulated sugar
2 (1-inch) pieces peeled fresh ginger, thinly sliced
2 (3-inch) strips lime zest
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 cups blueberries
2 cups lemon sorbet (optional)

Preparation
1. Bring 2 cups water, 1/2 cup blackberries, sugar, ginger, and lime zest to a boil over medium-high heat in a saucepan, stirring just until sugar is dissolved. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat, and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Pour mixture through a fine strainer set over a bowl; don't press on solids. Reserve the syrup, discarding the blackberries. Then stir in the lime juice.

2. Add the remaining 2 cups blackberries and blueberries to the syrup. Serve over 1/2 cup lemon sorbet, if desired.

My 4th of July Costume Outfit!

I am not much of a partygoers type of person because I really hate crowds, but I know how exciting it is especially some parties required for the attendees to wear Costumes outfits. I am Dying to Have this Dress!...

...Yap, for some reason I have become (shall we say feminine) because I love wearing dresses these days. I admired and appreciate women who wear dresses gracefully even just a simple kind of dress. When I was in the store the other day, I saw this dress (the picture attached) and I think is really cute, simple and yet elegant! Obviously I love the dress with matching flat sandal!

This is the latest design in the store right now for summer season which I think is perfect for our warm temperature around here. I tell you what, I am dying to have this dress, and hopefully my size it won’t be sold out by the time I am able to afford it next week. Shrimp & Plum Kebabs

As much as I love to cook, but I still find it hard sometimes and time consuming to prepare a good food. I have been searching some healthy recipe that I don’t have to spend so much time in the kitchen. Summer is here and I love to grill our food a lot during this time of year. And I found a perfect recipe that is very easy and quick to make. This one is way easy because you can toss quick-cooking shrimp, juicy summertime plums and zesty jalapeños with a simple cilantro-lime marinade for a deluxe meal in minutes. If you like, use peaches or nectarines in place of the plums and red or green bell peppers for the jalapeños.


Ingredients and easy PREPARATION:

3 tablespoons canola oil or toasted sesame oil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon freshly grated lime zest
3 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 raw shrimp (8-12 per pound), peeled and deveined
3 jalapeño peppers, stemmed, seeded and quartered lengthwise
2 plums, pitted and cut into sixths

1. Whisk oil, cilantro, lime zest, lime juice and salt in a large bowl. Set aside 3 tablespoons of the mixture in a small bowl to use as dressing. Add shrimp, jalapeños and plums to the remaining marinade; toss to coat.
2. Preheat grill to medium-high.
3. Make 4 kebabs, alternating shrimp, jalapeños and plums evenly among four 10-inch skewers. (Discard the marinade.) Grill the kebabs, turning once, until the shrimp are cooked through, about 8 minutes total. Drizzle with the reserved dressing.
